Moov Commands

You can run the Moovweb SDK locally in your terminal using the moov command. Type moov help to see more details about the various moov commands. Below you can find more information about the commands.

The command moov start starts up the Developer Dashboard, where you can manage and run your transformed projects locally. See the Moov Start document for more details about how to use this command. We also have more information about how to use the Developer Dashboard.

Server

The command moov server starts up the transformation server, which can also be done from inside the Developer Dashboard. See the Moov Server document for more details.

Help

The help command gives instructions on how a command should be used. Use like so:

moov help COMMAND

where “COMMAND” is the moov command you need help with.

There are more commands in addition to the ones on this page. You can see the complete list by running moov help at the command prompt.

Version

Putting the following in the command line prints out the current version of the Moovweb development framework that is installed.

moov version

Clean

moov clean removes all auto-generated files within the project environment, forcing them to be regenerated.

moov clean

Check

moov check runs through the project to check if there are any issues with Tritium syntax or function use.

moov check

Deploy

The deploy command takes your local project files and deploys them to a corresponding Control Center project.

moov deploy [--layer=layer-name] <account-name>/<project-name>

There are many additional options. For all the details on how to customize your moov deploy command, issue the command moov help deploy.

The first time you run moov deploy in a session, you will be prompted for your Control Center email and password.

This command provides you with a lot of flexibility and options to integrate with your deployment process. Please, visit the Moov Deploy page for more detailed information on how to use the deploy command effectively.

Vendorize

The vendorize command packages a project and all of the mixers in their locked versions for easier project versioning and management.

moov vendorize

Scaffold

Moov scaffold is a quick and easy way to add a new page to your Moovweb project. When you run the command:

moov scaffold [pages/page_name]

Moovweb will generate 2 files for you:

It will also add an @import statement to main.scss:

@import "pages/page_name";

All you have left to do is add the appropriate mapping to your mappings.ts file!

Looking for the generate command used in Moovweb 4.7 and earlier?

In Moovweb SDK versions earlier than Moovweb 5, you could use the moov generate command to create a project. The way to do that now is to use the “Generate New Project” button on the Developer Dashboard which is part of the Moovweb 5 SDK. You can still review this archived document which describes the structure of a project and the styles of projects that you could create, and how to use that command with older versions of the SDK.
